This biome is the Grassland biome. This biome is a biome where grasses, not trees, are the main plant life. Some of its characteristics are; mid latitude, cool winters and hot summers, and it has rich topsoil. It can also be known as "Prairies or Savannahs". Some of its animals consist of prairie dogs, foxes, lions, elephants, and giraffes. Some of its most popular plants are grasses, little trees, and little algae. There is not much other plants because its mostly all grass. Some of the biotic factors are the animals, plants, and little algae. Some of the abiotic factors of this biome are sunlight, air, water, soil, and temperature. The environmental problem is that there is lots of animals that feed on grass. Too many and the grass may run out soon. The solution to this problem is that we need to get the animals adapted to somewhere else and move some of them so the will have more land to share and the plants won't eventually run out for them to eat. In this example of a food web (left) we see the producers are the gum tree, the wattle tree, and grasses. The examples of the consumers are; crickets, blue-faced honeyeater, termites, kangaroo, and wombat. Examples of the secondary consumers are; magpie, echidna, emu, and frilled lizard. Examples of the decomposers are; dingo, wedge-tailed eagle, and laughing kookaburra. The sun provides all the energy for the plants to travel through the food web.
